The City of Depoe Bay needed to replace aging harbor docks with a system capable of handling some of the most demanding marine conditions on the Oregon Coast.
Marine Floats designed, engineered, and fabricated a complete replacement for Docks 2–4, including more than 40 mainwalk and finger floats, a gangway landing float, and a steel approach pier. The system was designed for daily tidal movement, high wind loads, strong currents, and the additional structural demands associated with seismic and tsunami conditions.
The docks were fabricated at our Tacoma facility using hot-dip galvanized steel framing, ADA-compliant fiberglass grating, and UHMW wear components selected for long-term use in saltwater conditions. An additional coat of epoxy was also applied over the HDG coating. Engineering and shop drawings were sealed by a Professional Engineer registered in Oregon and developed to meet the City's structural and freeboard requirements.
From engineering through fabrication, the project brought together durable materials, site-specific design, and the experience needed for an exposed working harbor environment.

Our Tacoma production facility allows many dock systems to be fabricated in large sections before they arrive onsite. For larger marina and waterfront projects, this can reduce onsite construction time, limit disruption, and provide greater control during fabrication.
